Hong Kong 2020 The Liquor License

The Liquor License is restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs licensed to sell or supply liquor for consumption on the premises. The Seller / supplier must obtain the Liquor License before they start to sell / supply liquor .the period of application around 4 months.

Application Procedures
a. a copy of the applicant's HKID Card;
b. a copy of each of the business registration certificate of the restaurant and company
c. 2 recent photographs of the applicant ;
d. 3 copies of a plan showing the layout of the premises with clear indication of the area used for dancing
e. a copy of the certificate of incorporation if the owner of the establishment under application is a corporation;
f. a copy of the full or provisional general/light refreshment/marine restaurant license, if available,
g. a copy of the business registration certificate bearing the new shop sign
h. a copy of the amended business registration certificate in respect of the premises under application
i. 3 copies of a plan showing the layout of the premises with clear indication of the area included/deleted.

For liquor license application in respect of the premises not under application for or covered by Restaurant License or Certificate of Compliance, please submit the following documents:
j. 5 copies of identical proposed layout plans are required to show the layout of the premises including the portion for sale or supply of liquor and for consumption of liquor on the premises. Such plans should be drawn to scale in metric units;
k. 3 copies of identical proposed ventilating system layout plans together with the Supplier Certificate are required if the ventilating system is installed in the premises. Such plans should be drawn to scale in metric units; and
l. 3 copies of identical location maps drawn to scale of 1:1000, in metric units, are required to clearly indicate the location of the premises.

The issue or renewal of a liquor license (other than a club liquor license)
(a) If a bar is kept on the premises concerned—
(i) For a license valid for 1 year............ $3,940
(ii) For a license valid for more than 1 year ...................... $5,910
(b) If no bar is kept on the premises concerned—
(i) For a license valid for 1 year............ $1,990
(ii) For a license valid for more than 1 year...................... $2,990

Regulation 25A of the Dutiable Commodities (Liquor) Regulations stipulates that the sale of liquor is prohibited except on the authority of a liquor license or a temporary liquor license at any premises for consumption on those premises, a place of public entertainment or a public occasion for consumption on at the place or occasion. If such a place is in fact unlicensed, the person in charge of the premises or place shall be guilty of violating the relevant licensing requirement for liquor selling under Regulation 17(3B) of the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, and may be subject to prosecution. Upon conviction, he would be liable to a maximum penalty of $1 million in fine and imprisonment for two years.
